Walker Tape®’s Base Tape is a multi-purpose system care product that is made to both mend and make repairs in hair systems; and allow for stronger adhesives to be used on more fragile/gentle unit bases. It's a single-sided, dull, and semi-flexible adhesive that helps client's get a longer life out of their hair system.
Base Tape is meant for minor system repair and is not for use on your client’s skin. It is not designed to be the only adhesive used on a unit.
- Protection & Durability: Base Tape acts as a protective layer between the unit and a stronger adhesive, protecting the unit and allowing wearers more adhesive options to choose from.
- Quick & Easy Repairs: Base Tape helps to mend and repair tears and other small damages to the hair system, allowing the wearer to continue using it.
- Longer Life for Systems: By fixing tears and other small damages, Base Tape allows wearers to get a longer life out of their hair system.
To Repair Damages
- Cut a small piece of Base Tape from the roll.
- Place the tape on the inside of the hair system, over the damaged area. Make sure that the system is clean and dry before doing so.
- Complete the rest of the installation as normal.
To Prepare Delicate Systems for Stronger Adhesives
- Cut however many pieces you need for install from the roll of Base Tape.
- Place the Base Tape along the inside of the system, wherever you intend to apply another two-sided tape. Make sure the system is clean and dry before doing so.
- Base Tape makes it possible to use a stronger tape on a delicate system, such as Ultra Hold Tape on a lace-based unit.
Keep the product away from heat, humidity, and light. Store in a well-ventilated, cool, dark, dry, room-temperature controlled environment (60-80°F). Seal bags completely. With proper storage, our tapes have a shelf life of up to one year.
Q. Does Base Tape affect the hold times of other adhesives?
A. It doesn’t! Base Tape simply serves as a barrier between the system itself and a stronger adhesive, giving the base a layer of protection.
Q. Does Base Tape leave residue?
A. Base Tape is built to be low residue, and leaves little residue behind upon removal.
